The Fire Brigade Department in Mansa has retrieved the body of a yet-to-be-identified man believed to be in his 20s after he reportedly drowned in the Mansa River in Kapisha area, Namwandwe.
The incident was reported yesterday by fishermen who spotted the body floating in the river and observed that it appeared to be in a decomposed state.
Meanwhile, three different families who gathered at the scene to identify the deceased confirmed that the body did not belong to any of their missing relatives.
The body was later taken to Mansa General Hospital and has since been deposited in the mortuary awaiting identification.
