FiberCom Wireless Zambia has declared its first-ever dividend payout to parent company ZESCO Limited since its incorporation in 2017, with shareholders approving a dividend of more than K6.5 million.
Speaking during the dividend presentation ceremony in Lusaka, FiberCom Chief Executive Officer Nangelelwa Sitwala has described the payout as a major milestone in the company’s growth from a small telecommunications department within Zesco into one of Zambia’s leading ICT service providers.
Mr. Sitwala says the dividend declaration demonstrates the progress the firm has made in expanding broadband and digital services across the country.
He says Fibrecom has now deployed fibre networks connecting all 10 provinces of Zambia, including provincial and metro networks, while providing backbone and exchange services to telecom operators, internet service providers, and other licensed operators.
The company has further disclosed that it has recently acquired a regional licence, allowing it to expand services directly to corporate institutions, government entities, and households.
FiberCom also revealed that it currently provides enterprise connectivity solutions linking offices for businesses and institutions operating across different parts of the country.
FiberCom has attributed the company’s growth and profitability to the dedication of its staff, support from stakeholders, and continued trust from customers.
