CHIPYOKA REQUESTED AUTHORISATION OF TWO BANK TRANSFERS – IBA DIRECTOR

.

A high-ranking official at the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has revealed suspicious transactions and questionable dealings within the institution.

Testifying in the murder trial of Guntila Muleya, Nkandu Eustace, 49, a director at the IBA, told the court that he signed two bank transfer requests for payments to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) on July 5 and 24, 2024, which were allegedly diverted to a different account.

Nkandu said he was unaware of the diversion and only discovered it when questioned by forensic experts and police.

Nkandu also recounted the announcement of the late Muleya’s murder by Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana and said staff were required to attend the funeral, where some received fuel allowances. However, finance official Francis Chipyoka was not seen at the funeral.

IBA boss Guntila Muleya was allegedly murdered on July 23, 2024. His body was found in Njolwe, Chongwe District.
