The Zambia Senior Men’s National Team has been eliminated from the 2025 AFCON following a 3-0 defeat to hosts Morocco, finishing bottom of Group A.
Moses Sichone’s side failed to record a win in the group stages after drawing against Mali and Comoros, extending Zambia’s search for a first AFCON match victory since 2012.
Morocco started the encounter on the front foot and took the lead in the 9th minute through Ayoub El Kaabi, before Brahim Díaz doubled the advantage later in the first half.
El Kaabi completed his brace in the 51st minute to seal a comfortable 3-0 victory for the hosts.
Morocco finished top of Group A with seven points, followed by Mali in second place and Comoros in third.
