The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has taken over management of traffic and other supporting infrastructure at Kasumbalesa Border in Chililabombwe District on the Copperbelt following Cabinet approval.

This follows expiration of a concession agreement between the Government and the Zambia (I.P.) Border Crossing Company (ZIPBCC).

Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda says the decision will allow government to maximize revenue collection from Kasumbalesa Border Post.

Ms. Kasanda adds that this attaches great importance to the border post as it has potential to enhance trade between Zambia and Congo DR.
