The Zambia Revenue Authority has collected gross revenue of 17.7 billion kwacha in January and February of 2023.

ZRA Director Research and Corporate Strategy, Ezekiel Phiri, says out of the amount, the authority refunded 2.7 billion kwacha to taxpayers for various tax claims during the same period.

Mr. Phiri adds that this left the authority with a net revenue of 15 billion kwacha from the target of 16.4 billion kwacha for the two months.

He has also disclosed that the authority has also collected 2.6 billion kwacha from the 7,772 tax amnesty applications received by the authority as of March, 22, 2023.

He was speaking at the ongoing ZRA-USAID Revenue for Growth Project Media Workshop on taxation in Lusaka.
