ZESCO Limited has apprehended three suspected cable thieves in Lusaka’s Chinika area, for being in possession of electricity cables, reasonably suspected to have been stolen from power installations.

The trio was arrested in the early hours of November 8, after being found with loads of service cables, and copper cables, suspected to have been stolen from ZESCO transformers and installations.

The suspects, Patrick Mbodza, aged 38, a scrap metal dealer, of House Number B-03 in Chinika area, and his alleged accomplices: Sampa Mbodza, aged 30, of no fixed abode but reasonably believed to be a resident of Musamba in Chilanga, and Boston Kazembe, aged 28, of house Number B-24 in Chinika, have all been detained.
