The Zambia Correctional Service says it will continue to provide cheaper mealie meal to consumers as demand increases especially on the Copperbelt Province.

Zambia Correctional Service Commissioner-General Mr. Fredrick Chilukutu says the Food Reserve Agency provided about twenty thousand metric tonnes of maize grain to the service of which only five thousand metric tonnes has been used.

Commissioner-General Chilukutu says the service will be able to boost their production of mealie meal so that consumers can afford the commodity which is in short supply in the province.

He says the service, working together with the Zambia National Service, will work on modalities for the production of mealie meal which is in high demand on the Copperbelt.
