Zambia’s Growth Domestic Product (GDP) has recorded a 3.5 percent growth rate in the second quarter of 2022.
This is 1.3 percent more than the 2.2 percent recorded in the first quarter of 2022.
Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) Interim Statistician General, Mulenga Musepa, says public administration and defence and education sectors led the industry contribution by 1.65 and 1.63 percent.
Mr. Musepa adds that the annual rate of inflation for September 2022, has increased to 9.9 percent from 9.8 percent in August, going up by a margin of 0.1 percent.
He attributed the increase in the rate of inflation for September 2022 to a decrease in food prices from 0.4 percent in August to -0.2 percent representating a decrease of 0.6 percentage points.
