Government has revealed that Zambia’s stock of external debt has increased to 13.96 billion dollars by end of 2022 from 13.04 billion dollars as of end of September 2022.
Minister of Finance and National Planning Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane has attributed the increase to disbursements made to multilateral creditors.
Dr. Musokotwane adds that Zambia’s domestic debt stock increased slightly from 210 billion kwacha at end 2022 to 211.7 billion kwacha as of the end of March 2023.
The Minister spoke during the Symposium on the first quarter budget and economic performance.
