ZAMBIAN MUSIC PRODUCER CHALI BRAVO MULALAMI DIES

Chali Bravo Mulalami, the pioneer in music producer, songwriter, and founder of Slingbeats Entertainment, has died following a brief illness. He passed away Tuesday evening at Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) confirmed.

Widely regarded as a transformative figure in Zambian music, Mulalami is credited with reshaping the country’s sonic landscape through his prolific output behind the boards. His productions defined the careers of some of the industry’s most celebrated names, including CQ, Crystal Shaun, K’millian, Tommy D, Mampi, Roberto, General Ozzy, Namanje, and many others.

ZAM described him as a visionary who created a new sonic identity for the nation, going beyond music production to craft a distinct sound that defined an era.

Through Slingbeats Entertainment, Mulalami built a reputation as both a hitmaker and a talent developer, nurturing artists across generations and genres. His catalogue remains a defining part of Zambian popular music.

ZAM Publicity Secretary and Spokesperson Edmond Mbanga Miti issued the announcement on behalf of the association, extending condolences to Mulalami’s family, friends, and the wider creative community.
