ZAMBIA U17 BOYS BEAT INDONESIA IN WORLD CUP OPENER

Zambia’s Under-17 Boys National Team has recorded their first-ever FIFA World Cup victory after defeating Indonesia 3-1 in their opening Group H match.

Zambia struck first in the second minute through Mapalo Simute, a goal that was ruled for off-side.

Indonesia then took an early lead in the 11th minute through Gholy, but the Junior Chipolopolo Boys fought back with determination.

Abel Nyirongo struck twice in the 34th and 36th minutes to turn the game around before Lunkonde Mwale sealed the victory in the 41st minute.

Dennis Makinka’s boys will face Honduras in their second group match on Friday, November 7, before concluding their group stage campaign against five-time world champions Brazil on Monday, November 10.
