The Zambia Under-16 Girls Tennis team has secured a place in the semi-finals of the ITF/CAT Southern Africa Junior Tennis Championships currently underway in Gaborone, Botswana.
The qualification follows a dominant 3–0 victory over hosts Botswana in their final group match.
The result keeps Zambia firmly in contention for a top-three finish in the regional team competition, which features some of Southern Africa’s most promising junior tennis players.
Zambia is competing in Group A, alongside South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana.
Meanwhile, other Zambian teams competing in the Under-14 and Under-16 boys’ and girls’ categories narrowly missed out on qualification for the semi-finals.
However, they will continue participating in the classification matches, where overall standings and valuable ranking points remain at stake.
