The Zambia Baseball5 National Team has suffered a 2-0 defeat to South Africa in the second game of the Baseball5 African Championship currently underway at OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre.
The loss marks a setback for the host nation as they compete on home soil in the continental tournament.
South Africa’s defence proved impenetrable as they shut out the Zambian side to secure the victory.
The Baseball5 African Championship has brought together six nations from across the continent, with Cabo Verde, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Kenya, South Africa and host nation Zambia competing for continental supremacy.
Zambia will have an immediate opportunity to redeem themselves when they face Tunisia on Thursday evening.
