Zambia has been awarded as the 2022 Best Malaria Scorecard Tool by the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA).
The inaugural award has been presented to President Hakainde Hichilema on the sidelines of the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Speaking when he received the award, President Hakainde Hichilema, has expressed gratitude that the recognition symbolizes positive gains made by Zambia in tackling the deadly disease.
An elated President Hichilema says his government looks forward to enhancing the use of the scorecard tool to further decentralize systems in the elimination of malaria.
He adds by giving credit to dedicated unsung heroes in the country’s health sector that put their lives on the line to save millions.
