ZAMBIA ATHLETICS PAYS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ALLOWANCES AS 4x400M MEN’S RELAY TEAM MOVES TO RACE TODAY

Zambia Athletics (ZA) has paid the 4x400m Men’s Relay Team their allowances for the ongoing 2025 World Championships, to allow them to race in the heat scheduled for today.
This comes after the team boycotted the championships on Friday, demanding payment of their allowances for previous competitions.
The Athletes, who have confirmed receipt of payments to Diamond Sports, have now resolved to race, expressing optimism and promising to do their best.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, ZA General Secretary Teddy Shimishi has confirmed the payments, saying the allowances for previous competitions will be sorted after the World Championship.
He says there is a need to reconcile payment records, as the competitions took place before the new administration took office.
Shimishi has since urged the athletes to give their all for the country as they prepare to race in Heat 2 at 19:35 Local Time (12:35hrs Zambia Time).
