The Zambia Airports Corporation Limited has projected an increase in air passenger traffic in 2023 from over one point six million passengers recorded in 2022.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka on the 2022 Performance and 2023 Outlook, Corporation Acting Managing Director, Maggie Kaunda, says through its route development plan it intends to open the country’s gateways to new airlines as well as have carriers that suspended flights return to Zambia.
Mrs Kaunda adds that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) projects a 27.4 percent growth from this year’s increased passenger traffic to Africa which it intends to tap into.
She has since echoed the corporation’s resilience to consolidate efforts to market Zambia as an attractive and affordable destination.
