TikToker Francis Kapwepwe has asked President Hakainde Hichilema, Vice President Mutale Nalumango, Chief Mukuni, the Tonga people, and all Zambians to forgive him, saying he has learnt valuable lessons from prison and regrets his actions.
He has also appealed to the court for mercy, citing poor health and family responsibilities.
The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted Kapwepwe on two counts of hate speech linked to videos posted on his TikTok page, “Why Me the Lion of the World,” in which he allegedly targeted the Tonga people and residents of Southern Province.
As he awaits judgment, the court has found Kapwepwe to be a second offender, having previously been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on charges of hate speech in 2025.
