igeria continues to soar on the international scene, but what will it take for Zambian creatives to make it abroad?

International music songstress, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, received her first Oscar nomination in the Best Original Song category, for her contribution as a songwriter on Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me,’ a soundtrack for Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’

She is not the first of her kind with artistes from Nigeria such as Burna Boy and Wizkid making big moves internationally.

What do you think our local artistes can do to make it on the big scene as well, is it more support, improved quality or is it just a matter of time?

  1. That’s a good question. I’ll just ride into it Most media platforms in Zambia fantasize in promoting Irrelevant content. Nigeria has more media platforms with comfortable and flexible media Policies that gives artists or creatives in general to utilize they projects. The other thing is that media platforms lie too much. Y’all market and promote a lot of wack projects and brands. Y’all smile a lot for projects that’s unhelpful and don’t even make any sense to society growth. If you had to compare most Nigerians songs that are produced well marketed well promoted well by media companies, their are nothing not close to a failed society. Nigeria being among countries with wild populations ain’t even close an excuse. One of my observations, the most strong wall I find is medias, them being the important and massive sell-out spot, and artists can’t break it alone. Y’all need to reconsider y’all policies and tell these guys the truth
,prolly we can have one international move.

    Thanks for y’all time.
