17 more suspected cases of Cholera have been recorded in Vubwi District of Eastern Province.
Ministry of Health Director of Public Health and Research, Dr. Patricia Bobo, has disclosed the latest cases to Diamond News in an exclusive interview.
Dr. Bobo says at the moment, the numbers are only from Vubwi District.
She adds that the ministry has since intensified community awareness programmes against the deadly disease that claimed a life last week when the first six confirmed cases were reported.
Meanwhile, several pit latrines have collapsed in Mazyopa Compound in Lusaka following torrential rain.
Desperate residents have appealed to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to assist them in reclaiming good sanitation for fear of an outbreak of waterborne diseases like Cholera.
