Four more new cases of cholera have been recorded in Vubwi District of Eastern Province.

This brings the cumulative number of cholera cases to 25 and one death since the deadly waterborne disease was confirmed in the country last week.

Zambia National Public Health Institute Director Communication of Information and Research, Mazyanga Liwewe, has told Diamond News that six patients are still admitted to isolation wards and are receiving treatment.

Ms. Liwewe says health officials remain on high alert to contain the disease.
