The Football Association of Zambia is expecting the Zambia Under-20 Boys National Team to compete favorably at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations which will run from 19th February to 11th March, 2023 in Egypt.

Speaking before departure from Senegal, FAZ Communications Manager, Sydney Mungala, says the minimum target for the boys should be to exceed the group stage and get a place at the 2023 U20 World Cup staged for Indonesia.

The top 4 teams at the Africa Cup of Nations will qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the U20 Chipolopolo have left for Egypt to set up camp in Ismailia where they are expected to have two international friendlies before moving to Alexandria for their first AFCON clash against Benin.

The team concluded their West African tour after recording a 4-2 loss to Nigeria and a 1-0 defeat to Senegal.
