U17 Zambia National Handball Team have opened with a bang at the ongoing Round Robin 2022 International Handball Federation Trophy Africa: Zone 6 Youth, beating Lesotho with a wide gap in the score difference.
The Young Super Shooters are the defending Champions of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Zone 6, (Division 5).
The Zambian side gave Lesotho a hard time in the first half of the game, ending with a 29-4 score line in favor of Zambia.
The Young Super Shooters later resumed with no mercy, conceding only 5 more goals but scoring double their goals in the first half, bringing the final score to 58-9.
On the other hand, the U20 Zambia National Handball team have been narrowly beaten by rivals South Africa.
They recorded only 13 goals in the first half of the game while South Africa recorded 17 goals.
They returned in the game with a boost to catch up and possibly exceed the opponent’s score but with only a goal left to be at per, the final whistle was blown resulting to a 28-29 loss for Zambia.
The Zone 6 men’s youth and junior tournaments of the IHF Trophy Africa is taking place in Harare, Zimbabwe from 18 to 22 October 2022.
The event serves as qualification for the Continental Phase of the IHF Trophy Africa.
