Vubwi District in Eastern Province has recorded two more confirmed cases of Cholera bringing the cumulative number to six cases.

This follows the outbreak of the disease which has so far claimed one life in the district which is bordering Malawi.

Eastern Province Public Health Specialist, Charles Fanaka, says the Ministry of Health is implementing interventions that will help contain the disease in Vubwi.

Dr. Fanaka says distribution of Chlorine in the households is underway as one of the intervention measures.

He says the Ministry is also working with Community Volunteer Health workers on immediate response measures such administration of ORS to suspected cases and recommending them to health facilities as quickly as possible.
