Two women have been found drowned in a well in Luangwa Extension, Kabwe District, Central Province.
According to a statement from Kabwe Municipal Council, the Kabwe Fire Brigade responded to the incident at 12:34 on Sunday, 9 August, at House Number 8463.
The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Gladness Nambuka, a student at Kabwe School of Nursing, and 26-year-old Patricia Michelo, a house help.
The two were found in a well approximately six metres deep.
The council says the bodies were discovered by Nice Chiyala, who arrived home at around 09:30 and noticed blankets hidden behind a poultry structure, some of which had blood stains.
She also noticed other blankets in the well and, upon further inspection, discovered the two bodies.
Chiyala alerted her cousin, who notified the relevant authorities.
The Kabwe Fire Brigade retrieved the bodies and handed them over to police for further investigations and necessary procedures.
