Copper Queens Coach, Bruce Mwape, says the Turkish Women’s Cup, which the team will participate in, will help gauge the team’s readiness for the 2023 world cup.

Speaking after Thursday’s training session, Mwape says the tournament will reveal how best the local and professional players are able to blend in a bid to select the best players that will represent the country at the World Cup.

He has since urged fans to continue supporting the team even when the performance is not as good as expected, adding that the girls will not disappoint.

Meanwhile, Copper Queens Midfielder Avell Chitundu says the competition in the team is very high as the local players are all vying for places in the national team.

The girls will take part in the Turkish women’s cup to be held from the 13th to the 22nd of February 2023 in the resort town of Alanya, Turkey.
