Hundreds of truck drivers in Nakonde border town have protested against poor working conditions, thereby halting the transportation of goods.

Speaking on behalf of the drivers, Jack Mulobwa says the low wages, delayed payments, inadequate contract terms as well as non-representation by a union should be addressed before the drivers to return to work.

Mr. Mulobwa says the wages are unjustly low, as they are paid as little as K1, 000.

The drivers are urging their respective employers to address their plight.
