Tension is high at Kasumbalesa border in Chililambombwe as protesting international truck drivers are attempting to stop any trade between Zambia and Congo DR.

The truck drivers who have refused to cross into DR Congo following attacks in that country say no Congolese national should cross into Zambia.

Drivers and traders from Congo DR engaged in a running battle as they threw stones at each other, halting business at the border.

Copperbelt Police Commanding officer Sharon Zulu has called for reinforcement to calm the situation.
