Kankoyo Member of Parliament Heartson Mabeta has told the Lusaka Magistrates Court that he got disturbed when he heard PF Information and Publicity Secretary Raphael Nakacinda on Muvi TV saying that President Hakainde Hichilema was summoning judges to his house.
Mr. Mabeta was testifying in a matter in which Mr. Nakacinda is accused of defaming President Hichilema contrary to section 69 of the Penal code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Allegations are that, Nakacinda, on December 13, 2021 in Lusaka, with intent to bring the name of Mr. Hichilema into hatred, ridicule and contempt, published defamatory matter by word of mouth, where he addressed people at the Lusaka High Court which was also broadcasted by Muvi Television and Crown TV Facebook page that the President had summoned Judges at his private residence intimidating and coercing them to frustrate Patriotic Front PF’s legal battles.
Mr. Mabeta says he was disturbed when he saw the clip which was indicating that the president had an agenda to form a one party state.
And during cross examination, Mr. Mabeta disclosed that his interest in the matter was to ensure justice is served.
He also further confirmed of having complained against former Kwacha MP Joseph Malanji and suspended DPP Lillian Siyunyi.
