Transparency International Zambia TI-Z has called for the resignation of Auditor General Dick Sichembe.
This follows Dr. Sichembe’s arrest on corruption charges involving over K 1 million.
In a statement, TIZ Executive Director Maurice Nyambe says Dr. Sichembe will maintain his morality and integrity if he decides to resign pending the conclusion of his corruption trial.
Dr. Sichembe is among the Ministry of Finance officials who have been implicated in the theft of public funds involving over K100 million through fictitious events.
