Three men abducted a 13-year-old girl in Chipata District, Eastern Province, and sexually assaulted her.
The minor reported that on June 2, 2024, at approximately 18:00 hours, her grandmother sent her to the market to buy milk, accompanied by her brother.
However, on the way, a man grabbed her hand, separated her from her brother, and led her to a one-room house.
Despite her resistance, the man threatened to beat her unless she entered the room, where two other men had joined him.
The girl claimed that they smoked, drank beer, and took turns sexually assaulting her all night.
The men left the house the next morning, and the girl escaped, returning home to tell her grandmother what had happened.
The grandmother confirmed looking for the child and reporting the incident to the police.
The girl underwent medical examinations, which revealed numerous instances of sexual assault.
Chipata police have arrested one suspect in connection with the incident.
The grandmother has vowed to pursue justice and has refused to negotiate with the perpetrators.
The investigation is still ongoing.
