Chipata City has recorded 21 suspected cases of cholera, with 14 admitted to various health facilities.
According to authorities, samples have been taken to the lab for investigation from the people presenting symptoms and signs of acute watery diarrhea.
Chipata City Council Town Clerk, Aaron Kamalondo, has confirmed that Namuseche Urban Health Centre reported the first case on May 29, 2024.
The cases have led to the closing of business at the famous Saturday Market.
