A 34 year old gardener of Lusaka has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates Court in connection with the murder of a couple of Lusaka West who were his employers.
The suspect, Godfrey Phiri is facing two counts of murder.
In count one, it has been alleged that the suspect between November, 19 and 22, 2O22 murdered Bernard Chomba.
And in Count two, the suspect is on the same date accused of murdering Bwalya Chileshe Chomba.
Since he is facing a capital offense of murder, the suspect has only appeared before magistrate Kaunda Sakwanda for an explanation of the charge pending his committal to the High Court for trial.
If found guilty and convicted, he risks serving a maximum jail term of life imprisonment.
In November last year, police arrested the suspect who later helped them to recover a Toyota Spacio vehicle, a television set, a fridge, two laptops and three mobile phones which were all properties of the deceased.
