Government has removed street vendors from the Central Business District of Lusaka.
A combined team of State and Council Police Officers moved in last night to demolish and burn down tables and stands.
The vendors are shocked and disappointed over the action taken by government.
The visibly irate vendors wonder where they will be trading from as no proper roadmap has been given by authorities.
They have called on government to rescind its decision as the action taken will cause more suffering to the many families that depend on street vending.
Street vending has remained a contentious issue for a long time despite Statutory Instrument No.18 of 2018 making it illegal.
