Suspects in the recent abduction of 13 young women in Lusaka will have to undergo mental and physical checkup to ascertain if they can stand trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the two suspects appeared before the Lusaka High Court, their lawyer made an application for them to undergo medical checkup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state did not object to the application but asked the court to put a return date for the medical results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
High Court Judge Charles Kafunda has granted the application and ordered that the results be availed on 6th April 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this matter, Matthew Sikaonga and James Bwalya are facing 54 counts of rape, assault, abduction and aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state has prepared 8 witnesses to testify in the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
