There is no denying that Liverpool’s start to the season has been difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their hopes of challenging for the Premier League title may already be over, with Jurgen Klopp’s side 14 points behind table-toppers Arsenal already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>However, after a heavy defeat by Napoli in their opening Champions League game, three successive wins has left them on the verge of progressing to the knockout stages for the sixth successive season – including Wednesday’s thrashing of Rangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They went into the half-time break level at 1-1 against Rangers at Ibrox, but strolled off at full-time with a 7-1 win under their belts, including a six-minute hat-trick for substitute Mohamed Salah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former England defender Jonathan Woodgate called their performance “Champions League dynamite” on BBC Radio 5 Live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You’ve just witnessed what that Liverpool team can do in the second half,” added the former Leeds defender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
