The suspect in the murder case of a wife due to a marital dispute in Kasenengwa district on July 22, 2024, has hanged himself.
Jairos Shawa, 30, of Makoleka Village in Chief Mishoro, axed his wife, Mercy Mwanza, aged 23 after a marital dispute.
He had been missing since the incident happened over a week ago.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, Robertson Mweemba, has confirmed that on July 28, 2024, around 08:00hrs, the body of the suspect was found hanging from a tree in the bush, approximately one kilometer from Chongo turn-off area.
Although the body was found in a decomposed state, family members identified the deceased.
The police have advised the relatives to bury as no foul play is suspected have happened.
