An investigation officer from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has told the court that she does not know whether the former Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo’s wife, Wanziya, inherited any other properties or assets aside from the properties which the state alleges to be proceeds of crime.

The witness, Florence Bwalya, says no search was carried out at the Ministry of lands to also investigate properties that belong to Mrs. Kampyongo.

Further, the witness says the state did not interview the person who constructed the property.

The witness said this during cross examination led by one of the accused’s lawyers Leon Lemba.

In this matter, Mr. Kampyongo and wife Wanziya are accused of acquiring properties reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime valued at K 12 million.

In another court story, the Lusaka Magistrates Court has threatened to revoke the bail of former Presidential Spokesperson Amos Chanda for not appearing before court.

In this matter, Mr. Chanda is facing two counts of theft and destroying evidence.
