A Sixty-Four-Year old woman of Chunga Compound has begged the Matero Local Court in Lusaka to grant her divorce from her husband due to poverty.
In this matter, Annie Mulenga sued Emmanuel Chipunda aged 85, for divorce for failure to honor his promises in their 50 year old marriage.

Ms. Mulenga told the attentive court that she was compelled to call it quits because her husband has failed to build a house for her.
In defence, Mr. Chipunda said he loves his wife but currently has no money to fulfil the promise.
The couple married in 1973 and has seven children.
In passing judgement, the court gave the couple up to 30th March, 2023 to reconcile.

They should just stick together. 50 years of marriage is too long to dirvoce.
