The registrar of Societies has issued a notice of deregistration to the opposition political party, Patriotic Front (PF) for failing to comply with the order to avail a full and complete list of office bearers of the party.
In a letter dated April 25th, 2023, the society says the Patriotic Front has only presented three office bearers out of a minimum of ten required, a breach of the legal requirement under section 2 of the societies act cap 119 of the laws of Zambia.
But in reacting to the letter, Patriotic Front Member of the Central Committee, Raphael Nakacinda, says the failure by the party not to submit their fingerprints after submitting other documents is just an administrative issue.
Mr. Nakacinda says all the registrar needed is to remind the opposition party of the requirement.
