National Olympics Committee of Zambia has urged athletes to remain calm as the commission follows up on the criteria used for the 2022 National Sports Awards Nominations following their complaints.
Speaking to Diamond Sports, Athletes Commission Chairperson Richard Mulenga says athletes have approached the commission stating their complaint of not being among the nominees for the awards.
Mulenga adds that the commission is yet to get the full details on the process of the selection of nominees and will inform the national at large once this is done.
Meanwhile, 17 categories have been shortlisted for these awards, including the President’s and Minister awards.
The National Sports Awards are slated for Friday, 3rd March, 2023 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
