The shortage of drugs has persisted in some health facilities in Lusaka.

A check at Chipata and Matero General Hospitals found some patients being given prescriptions.

Diamond news caught up with a family nursing a three months old sick baby shortly after receiving a prescription for Calpol, Aspirin and Saline Nasal Drops, drugs which are costing over K165.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Professor Lackson Kasonka says the drug situation is expected to stabilize this month.
