The Department of Immigration has revealed that it has apprehended 56 persons in relation to prostitution activities facilitated by some named casinos in Lusaka.

In a statement, the department’s Public Relations Officer, Namati Nshinka, says on July 21, 2023, the department raided two casinos namely Galaxy and Xing Long, located at East Park and Zambezi Mall respectively for allegedly facilitating prostitution activities. 

Mr. Nshinka says preliminary investigations have revealed that the said casinos place girls in secluded rooms to entertain clients who pay up to K 11,000 for their services.

He says the girls apprehended and still detained comprise 13 Chinese, seven Vietnamese, three Cambodians and one Venezuelan.
