A six-month-old baby that survived the Kapiri-Ngozi road traffic accident that occurred last week in Chirundu District of Southern Province is said to be in a stable condition and receiving treatment at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
According to the mother, Maureen Shanyabo, the baby was found hanging from a tree.
She says it is by the Grace of God that he is among the survivors in the road mishap that claimed over 20 lives.
And the driver Damiano Phiri who is among the survivors and currently receiving treatment at the University Teaching Hospital has apologized for the lives lost.
University Teaching Hospital Public Relations Officer Natalie Mashikolo says the hospital will continue taking care of the survivors until they fully recover.
Twenty-four people from the New Apostolic Church in Chongwe District died while 12 survived with serious injuries after a Mitsubishi Rosa bus they were traveling in hit into a Freightliner Truck at Kapiri-Ngozi area in Chirundu on Saturday.
