Former Livingstone Constituency Member of Parliament Rodney Sikumba has withdrawn from recontesting.
Sikumba joins former Livingstone Mayor Constance Muleabai, who also announced her withdrawal from the parliamentary race.
In a Facebook post, the immediate past Tourism Minister thanked the people of Livingstone for electing him in 2021 and expressed his commitment to campaign for President Hakainde Hichilema and other successful UPND candidates.
Earlier, Sikumba lost in the ruling party’s National Management Committee and the nullified ward adoption elections.
So far, Dillon Mayangwa, Ferdinand Simaanya, and Robert Hakasenke remain in the race for adoption under the UPND ticket.
