Senanga District Commissioner Zita Sipalo has expressed displeasure at the attitude being exhibited by some members of the community during the ongoing 2022 National Census of Population and Housing.

Ms. Sipalo says it is unfortunate that some people within the district are giving false information to enumerators in anticipation that government will give them material posessions.

She says the importance of the activity is to assist government plan for the development of the country based on the information that will be obtained from the 10 provinces.

Ms. Sipalo has since called for a mindset change among citizens and stop expecting handouts from government but instead take advantage of the available empowerment programs being rolled out in the country.

This came to light during her usual routine inspection of the ongoing national census of population and housing exercise in Senanga East.

Meanwhile some enumerators in Senanga East have bemoaned long distances, inadequate fuel and lack of network connectivity in the area.

They say they are forced to cover distances of 20 to 35 kilometers in the sandy terrain just to have access to network.
