Brother to Zambia’s fourth Republican President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, James Banda, has called for dialogue between President Hakainde Hichilema and his predecessor Edgar Lungu.
Speaking during the first memorial service of the former President held at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Mr. Banda says for love to exist, the country would like to see the two leaders talk.
He says the late former President would have initiated dialogue between the two leaders.
And Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has described the former President as a good statesman who helped in the smooth transition of power after the 2021 general election.
The President says this was amidst a tense environment.
Meanwhile in a tribute, former first lady, Thandiwe Banda, says life has not been easy for her for the past one year.
Others that paid tribute included his former Spokesperson Dickson Jere, children and other family members.
