Some Residents of Chalala in Lusaka have expressed concern over road accidents in the area.
This follows an incident that happened yesterday 5th February 2026, in which a suspected speeding vehicle lost control and crashed into a house belonging to Damien Mabingo, a resident of Chalala, along Kasama road.
Mabingo claims the vehicle ploughed into his bedroom. Fortunately, he was not home at the time of the accident.
He tells Diamond News that had he been inside the house, he could have lost his life or sustained serious injuries.
On February 4, 2026, another accident occurred along the same road where two children aged 8 and 7 were hit by a vehicle. One child died, while the other sustained serious injuries.
Community members are now calling on authorities to intensify road safety measures to prevent further accidents in the area.
