While Kasama and Mungwi Districts in Northern Province may be a hive of activities this weekend because of the Ukusefya Pa Ng’wena traditional ceremony which has attracted hundreds of people, sex workers are unhappy due to lack of clients.

One of the sex workers who we will call Jane Zulu (not real name) who has been in the industry for three years now says the business is slowly dying as most people are now avoiding it for various reasons.

She tells Diamond News that some of her friends have moved to the Ng’wena arena targeting businessmen who have come from outside the province.

She anticipates that Saturday and Sunday may be good days for them as most people might want to spend nights in Kasama.

Mary Lombe another sex worker has complained of increased police patrols which are affecting their parading along busy roads.
