Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Director General, Nason Banda, has charged that sending corrupt individuals to prison is a more expensive undertaking as compared to asset recovery.
Mr. Banda notes that those that are sent to prison to serve sentences come back to enjoy their loot, which is not beneficial to the country.
He says the commission will work towards ensuring that corrupt individuals not only serve their sentences but pay back through asset recovery, which is more beneficial to the country.
He was speaking when Paramount Chief Chitimukulu paid a courtesy call on him at the DEC offices.
And, Chief Chitimukulu has hailed DEC for its spirited fight against corruption, drug, and substance abuse.
Chief Chitimukulu, who has been honored by the DEC for being an anti-drug ambassador, has challenged parents to take the lead in the fight against drug abuse.
